Chimera

Here we focus on the functionalisation of laser-structured fibre-plastic composites through thermal spraying. Our goal is a weight-reduced metal-fibre composite hybrid with optimised composite strength and long-term durability.

We achieve this through the hybrid material combination of GRP and copper/zinc, laser structuring for surface modification and coating using arc wire spraying and atmospheric plasma spraying. The characterisation of composite adhesion and digital prototyping are integral components, as is the focus on EMC protection about electromobility.
